Megaflip

so I imagine myself being shot into the sky, out into orbit, past the sun, past the milky way, past the edge of the known universe, past layer upon layer of geometric layers that resemble a cell and into the center. There is this clockwork being that asks me how things are doing where I'm from. I say it's pretty good and that people are figuring it out. He decides to grant me one thing to bring back to my world and I humbly ask him for a good question to ask the people where I'm from. He looks at me with a smile and says "What did you say?"

Planetary Gastrulation

So I'm watching this lecture and I imagine what it would feel like to connect all the ideas in that graduate center. It felt like ten thunderclouds and I felt a pulse down my spine. This went on a couple of times and I'd come to realize that the clouds were actually a branch network in an oblong shape. I looked exactly like a global neuron and I looked around to see other neurons firing at the sky. How funny is that? Well, it's going to be interesting to study the multitude of relations in neurobiology- especially when cells take on emotional functions. Then the Hindoos would have been right all along. Hot damn.

This guy talks like I think. It's really quite incredible to hear it put together like that. His tangents, his humor... that awkward bumbling for the exact foothold. Man, I could just go there and just listen for hours. Oh man I should do that.

Should, would, could.

To put it very crudely, it is not the tree that the causes these emotional responses, but the fractal mathematics of the tree.

You know what cracks me up most? The people I talk to who use plant medicine (the shamans) talk in terms of plant medicine. Whenever we start talking about spirituality, they relate in those ways- as if those were the only ways. They are quick to dismiss other ways.

I just had a conversation with my good friend Jacob and he says that if you do a 315x20 (315lbs on the bar, squatting 20x), by the 20th squat you enter a sort of spiritual awakening. When I talk to Jake, he speaks in terms of weight. He is quick to dismiss other ways. "I've been high before" hahaha

When I talk to academics who have studied their ways into divinity, they speak in terms of the field of their choice. There is an excellent speech on TED where the guy, an architect, starts speaking about this enlightenment he found through architecture. Just like everyone else, he can't relate what he experiences with what other people experience. After all, how can you learn about architecture by taking drugs? Or what can you learn about drugs by squatting 20x. What can you learn about weight lifting by sitting real still in the dark?

This is the biggest joke in the world to me. People are blind to it but they experience it daily. Shit cracks me up.

I wrote this huge thing about being in a state of beauty but I don't know how to check facebook chat archives. What trips me out is that if someone else reads our conversation, they wouldn't be able to make sense of it. Each person's world and subsequent world view is strikingly different. I mean, talk about living in your own world- the 'normal', obsessively insincere (I dig that phrase) people live in just as much a fantasy than the other end of the spectrum. I fucking love this world.

Eve Ensler does the monologues and she is on TED too. Hah. What is really cool about TED is that when I watch a video I look for the divine insight. Practically every speech there has at least some divine insight, and more often than not, it isn't the main focus of their speech. Sometimes they hit the nail on the head.

FRAPS is a good free screen recorder
22:35Me
i'll check that out
22:36Kristopher
It's for recording games. So the video is uncompressed. You'll end up with a gig of files in about a minute
22:39Me
that seems like a lot
22:40Kristopher
it is. but when you convert the file to a compressed avi or mpeg it ends up really small. but you need a seperate application for that
22:40Me
I don't think I have enough space on my computer
wait, I'm on the new one
22:41Kristopher
ever other screen recorder i try to find has a watermark in the video. totaly gay
Xfire might be able to record the screen... hold on a second
22:43Kristopher
nope only while in a game
22:48Me
what is a good conversion software?
22:50Kristopher
xilisoft or AVS video converter. both can be found on download.com im not sure the limitations though. I just pirate it
23:01Kristopher
haha i just realized... if i had just one paycheck like i was making right before i quit i'd have the money to get the bonneville going, and buy crysis 2 and medal of honor
but that would be too easy!
because the bonneville will sell for about 6k, tripling what we put into it
23:06Kristopher
i think thats what i want to do though... buy cars and resell them. Id invest every paycheck. there's a Gran Torino down the road just sitting there, doesnt look like it needs much, maybe about 6 G's of work. But those things resell of 25-56k!
23:09Kristopher
i figure 56k is about 4 years at an entry level job. and a car could be fixed and sold in 6 months to a year with a steady flow of cash
23:11Kristopher
the more money you make, the quicker the car can be fixed and sold
thats how all these tv car shows do so well... plus the nice paycheck from the station
23:14Kristopher
they have it down to about 5-10 people on one car, and they have them done within a week or two
23:51Kristopher
alright. goin to sleep. have a good night man.

democratic solution

Let me just premise that this conversation has been going on for a couple thousand years.

build anything yet?
Haven't got the budget for it.
People these days really underestimate the necessity of financial backing.
one must work before he gets his paycheck
Gotta spend money to make money
then no body would have money.
Except thieves and conmen.
and who have I stolen from?
That's the million dollar question, isn't it?
If you lost all your money and possessions, how would you survive?
I'd earn it!
And how would you go about doing that?
"hey, for a day's worth of work, you feed me and shower me"
and how would you survive until someone agreed?
get cleaned up, get some clothes, get a job...
you know how many homeless people I've known through the years?
How would you pay for those clothes?
people are hard to fucking kill
they might go crazy, but they don't die easy
You say crazy like it's a bad thing
you don't know crazy
And you don't know me. So lets leave what who doesn't know what out of this for now. :P
There are exactly two ways to start in this life. To be given something, and to take it by force.
and you obviously don't know life.
If you strip it down to the very beginning, those are your two options. Because those with nothing, offer nothing, and are therefore useless.
well everyone is nursed as a child
there is no avoiding that
Which is being given something.
you're talking about the moral implications of stealing in a case where there are no moral implications.
not in the traditional case
I mean 'moral' as meaning right from wrong- yes, nursing a child is a moral action.
and it's a moral action for the child to accept this
I never brought in morals, actually. Only a choice between two actions.
Why someone choses which action they do is irrelevant
you're talking base states
because if it's not stealing, i'm not taking it by force. and it isn't given if it's earned.
so your case is moot
But they have to be willing to give you what you've earned.
you're as culturally evolved as ancient greeks.
people have been having this exact conversation for thousands of years.
apparantly!
Hey, how's that democracy treating ya?
it's a representative democracy- not direct democracy.
but it stems from the same origins.
you amaze me

I'm discarding a six.

I lay here listening to all the little disgusting sounds my mouth makes. The sandpaper scrapes of skin on denim. The amazing draw towards sound in places of silence. Gazing on the worlds best canvas I wondered...
What's worth drawing?

This is not anarchy.
This is not socialism.
This is not a grass-roots movement.
This is cultural evolution and it's going to happen.
As it's written, so shall it be done.

Kids singing about money...
People showing off their crap.
Product names!
Can't look at me and tell I'm trendy- can't even see me arrive.
You only see my displacement.
Making the everyday exploratory.

God of the mundane breaking expectation by creating dysfunction. You show how common it is. They all know the dysfunction, and they'll openly talk shop on methodology but refuse in basic principal that it's a problem. They know precisely how to hide it and talk about it as covering up a facial blemish- the covering of personal flaws. They run around announcing their affiliation to the elder gods through empty symbols. This is MY curry. By praising my pot-luck offering, you praise my false gods.

How about how none of us know what we're doing?

Prophetic because of the buzzing and lies- the bee maidens. Hermes was offered their ability of prophecy because Zeus didn't care for those practices- opposed to Apollonian prophecy which is somehow more pure.  It's a comfort in truth, these bee maidens.

"He ate it yesterday and he liked it!"

When would anyone tell a little girl to stop dancing?
When she takes her clothes off.

Should prostitution be illegal?
Certainly not criminalised but should it be done?
The legality is null. You can't penalize someone for simple human interaction.
If the criminal action is separate, treat it as such.

There is nothing more precious than a youthful sense of wonder.
You become sterile in a land of your own.
Tricksters impose this; both for themselves and the host.
There is no greater fear than of the self.

Just put on a band-aid.
Just put on a band-aid.
Put on a band-aid.
It ain't that bad.
And then he mumbles something about the self in shame.
So we live in this spinning world and they never tell you which way it's spinning; only that it is. Quickly.
So people stop moving because it ain't so bad.

The trickster is the mouse that follows the groove in the road.

People excited I got a bike. Shit cracks me up.

Not valuing the pedestrian city. Walking for recreation- not travel. Each group decision an Olympic action. The elder gods becoming ones who age. Robbing the blind of their glasses. Love of dolphins as natural happenings. The daily carnival of going to the beach.

Awakening to the kingdom of earth. Entering the kingdom of heaven is to give up ones folly in life. Wiping off sand from the beach- modern day carnival.

Here we break singularity of choice. If you dig into prophecy and tell someone to read up on neptune, they'll read one book or article on neptune. Satisfied on one answer. Break the method, not the person.

In a world where even the servants are white, I'm the black guest of honor.

My god, what an absolute fuck-dumpling!

>.O

My god, this little book store owner just blew my mind.

We were talking about self organizing systems and I brought up fractal development. He smiled and shook his head and told me that fractal patterns are merely the follow-through and not the initial mechanism. This dumbfounded me for about half an hour but I figured it out. He was going on about the golden ratio- but anyway. What he means to say is that fractal behavior is simply the echo of the initial mechanisms. The water molecule effects waters behavior which in then makes fractal river structure. It isn't where the buck stops, just the collective ripples. He gave me a name to look up and a resource.

The updates will continue until morality improves.

Being self aware, having heightened perception and pattern seeking tendencies are evolutionary traits with survival value.
evolution brings a species into harmony with it's environment.
The best harmony is a state of symbiosis where mutually beneficial exchange exists at personal, communal and ecological levels.
(therefore)
The purpose (or a single major outcome) of the mind's ability to track pattern brings us into a state of heightened co-operation.

I don't need sleep.

know about the history of christmas?
depends on which history you're talking about
siberian shamanism
haven't heard that one yet
http://www.cannabisculture.com/articles/3136.html
that's interesting
indeed. there is so much of this kind of symbolism that we use every single day and never realize
or that gets covered up by the christian mythos
it's all bastardized. we can't even tell where we are anymore
it happens in almost every culture. where a ritual is continued for so long that people take it for granted and lose the real significance of it
I don't remember if I asked you, but are you familiar with the trickster archetype?
yes it's one of my favorite mythological figure types
sorry i'm kind of a geek when it comes to mythology
well I think that the purpose (or one of the purposes) of the trickster archetype is to revive that cultural importance
there hasn't been much of that in recent years
well, that is my goal in life, if ever there was one
to bring back the trickster?
like Hermes, I possess a touch of the prophet which can be used in kinds of divination to tell folktales. the purpose of the storytelling is to transmit cultural and philosophical truths in ways that people can readily understand without totally freaking out
chu know what i mean?
i think i get it
what do you think the trickster does?
well that's the thing the trickster is the one archetype that doesn't have completely set rules. his purpose is to shake things up
right. like loki and baldur, which is really a story about the seasons- the coming of winter as a necessary facet of the life cycle
that exists on multiple levels of scale. personal life, communal life, state wide, natural cycles...
the breaking of patterns in order to retain freshness
which is hard to do now since patterns are so well recognized and accepted
which makes it even more important that we break them
paramount.
so how do you plan to do this in an age of disbelief?
well any kind of fear or violence is totally out of the question
thats true
it has to be a kind of cultural work that is both creative and destructive.
my skill set is not in creation but merely in the recognition and destruction of old, decrepit behavior.
I can't share with you my specific plan, as it will trigger a neurological recognition of reward and take away some of my motivation to actually perform the action.
ok
all in all, it requires story telling
are you doing similar work?
in a way. i don't like writing stories i've already heard so i try to break cliche
I just wonder if we're going to survive this mess
humans always survive in some capacity
historically we've always had these stories and the models in our every day life. it's only recently been suppressed.
that tells me that we didn't have all the tools we needed before to form a truly harmonious relationship with the world.
because we're taught now that they're only stories
well it's a great number of factors.
partially it's the suppression of the so called "pedestrian city" with the advent of the motor vehicle.
we've cut the soul out of our culture and bastardized it's roots
outlawing all meaningful cultural practices and criminalizing such important plant medicines including DMT, which is produced endogenously every night while we sleep.
now a schedule 1 drug
so what is there to do? go to the source.
destroy the need for war, for authoritarian government, for internal strife.
create the conditions necessary for personal sovereignty.
